Elf Attire
Elves wear many layers of light cloth in combinations of tight and flowing forms. The color of their cloth follows that of the their skin and hair, often matching but may contrast it: if they are pale of color their clothes are deep and dark, if dark in coloring their clothes are pale. To tight hose they add a vest or open shirt and open robes or ling tunics. They finish with draping fabrics of various lengths as wraps, sashes, scarves, togas or cloaks; or wear a mantle with or without a hood. The overall effect of their clothing often looks like waves swirling about or being wind-blown and following them. Elves have a fondness for adornment. Many elves wear one or more belts with a common fashion being a band that covers from their waist to their chest. They also wear many bracelets, necklaces and rings.
Taluman Elf Attire
The clothing worn by Taluman elves is even more exotic and minimal. The fashion of elves appears to be worn more for its sense of style and art than to cover or protect them. As beings of water, and connected to the Cool quality, it seems the elements do not affect them as much as other races, especially cold and wetness. In warm weather they will cover up more to protect their skin from the sun's rays. Elvish clothing is as a rule made of thin cloth and typically sheer. In their own communities they are less concerned with modesty and display more skin. But when among other races, they will wear more layers to match the fashion of those they walk among.
They start their outfit with hose that comes up past their waist to just below their chest made of the thinnest and softest material available where they live, silk if available or fine linen. They wrap ribbons around their body as well sashes and scarves. They wear ceramic bracelets all the way up their arms, and many rings. As with their general artistic style, the patterns of their adornment is flowing and rounded, and rarely repeats or is symmetrical to mimic the flowing nature of water and wave.
The elves of Taluma, both Moon and Star elves, have a martial art that uses their attire in self-defense. Their cloaks and capes, scarves, wraps, sashes and belts are used to distract, grapple, trip and otherwise redirect their attacker.
