Orc Throngs
While orcs travel in groups called storms, when they make camp for a period of time it is called a throng. A throng can be one or more storms gathered together for various reasons. They may camp simply to rest, but there can be specific reasons such as finding a plentiful source of resources, to spend time prepping or crafting, or even to celebrate an important or momentous day including marriages, births, deaths,or sacred events.
Historically, orcs have lived in tents and yurts made of beast skins, though recently they have begun to inhabit buildings in human-centric communities as part of integrating with them. Orcs call the neighborhoods they congregate in throngs as well.
Orcs of Gaithewaite
Orcs can be seen and encountered in the city of Gaithewaite, but there are not enough gathered together to be considered a throng. While hundreds come and go on a daily basis, only a few dozen live permanently in the city. Most orcs encountered in the city are sailors or caravan guards, as the constant travel of these occupations fulfills their unsettled natures, and are only there when their ship is docked or caravan is loading up. Those that reside in the city mostly work on the docks or in the yards, their natural strength appreciated to move goods around, though many have joined the city watch or the military.
